Ethiopian Musicians reach out to save a legend’s life
The Ethiopian Musicians Association in collaboration with different Ethiopian renowned artists is organizing a concert with all proceeds of the event going to support artist Abebe Melesse, a household name amongst millions of Ethiopian music fans and many musicians.
The mega concert dubbed “Wuleta” will be held at Laphto Mall on June 15 will feature legendary artists Mohamud Ahmed, Tewodros Kassahun a.k.a Teddy Afro, Hailiye Tadesse, Tsehaye Yohannes,Tsegaye Eshetu, Madingo Afework, Aster Kebede and others who will be backed by Ras Band..
Abebe is known for his iconic melodies and lyrics used by different Ethiopian artists over the last three decades. Artists like the late Tilahun Gessese, Mohamud Ahmed, Tsehaye Yohannes, Muluken Melesse, Neway Debebe, Hamelmal Abate and others have made their way into their fans’ hearts through the works of Abebe Melese. But as of late Abebe’s name is missing from his signature works due to a severe kidney failure.
According to Adika Communications, the mega concert is expected to be attended by thousands and is anticipated to create the mentality of reaching out to people in time of need.
The entrance fee is 300 birr for regular and 600 birr for VIP section.
