From January 13 to January 16, members of the United States Government’s core post-2015 team, under the leadership of John Podesta, Counselor to the President, and Gayle Smith, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director of the National Security Council, visited Addis Abeba to engage with Ethiopian and African Union (AU) officials, the US embassy said in a statement.
Japan and Ethiopia conducted the 15th Round of the Policy Dialogue on Industrial Development here in Addis Abeba from 12 to 17 January, 2015. The policy dialogue was referred to in the Joint Communiqué by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn issued on the occasion of the state visit to Ethiopia by Japan’s Prime Minister in January 2014, the Embassy of Japan said in a statement. “The current round is an important follow-up to Prime Minister Abe’s visit to Ethiopia and the last round held in August 2014.”
