Athlete Haile Gebreselassie shares experience in hotel investment at the ongoing AHIF
Highlights of the Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF) 2014, which concludes today, included a breakfast conversation with the Olympic Gold medalist and hotel investor Haile Gebreselassie.
Haile discussed what it has taken for him to succeed and why he has chosen to put some of his hard earned money in to the hospitality sector. He will also share his view on Ethiopia’s future as a tourism destination.
In addition to his own experience, Haile told top global hotel investors to take every opportunity and make an early entry to invest in Africa’s hotel industry. The timing, he said, is never been riper.
Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events, which organizes AHIF said: “It is always a privilege to hear first-hand from people who are truly world-class in their fields. One always learns something useful and their stories are often uplifting and inspiring. Delegates and journalists are in for a real treat.”
Africa’s top event for hotel investors has 500 delegates including over 50 members of the media confirmed this year. Discussions about tourism development and investment will take place today at the Sheraton in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, between high-level executives and government ministers from over a dozen countries.
