News: Fed. court to sentence woman accused of involvement in the assassination of Hachalu Hundessa

Addis Abeba, December 23, 2021- The Federal High Court, Second Constitutional and Anti-Terrorism Bench today ruled that Lamrot Kemal one of the Four suspects involved in the assassination of Hachalu Hundessa is guilty of felony committed by negligence. She was convicted as per Article 575/1 of the criminal law. 

At the previous hearing earlier in December the court told Lamrot to  present her affirmative defense against charges. She failed to present her defense and told the court to proceed with the ruling on the prosecutor’s evidence.

The court adjourned the hearing until tomorrow to pass sentence on Lamrot who will be remanded by Addis Abeba Police Commission until tomorrow’s session.AS
