#ASDailyScoop: Meta Abo Brewery employees arrested for allegedly stealing beer equipment amid uncertain acquisition process by BGI Ethiopia
Addis Abeba – A number of Meta Abo Brewery employees were arrested for allegedly stealing equipment from beer factory, reports said. Sources who spoke to the Capital disclosed that employees of Meta Abo were arrested for suspicion in stealing equipment from the beer manufacturer. The report did not however say how many had been arrested. The Meta Abo factory is currently under the full acquisition of the BGI Ethiopia, through procedures that lasted for over a year, according to the report.
It has been said during this transitional process, that employees of Meta Abo brewery were in a state of limbo as to the then-pending changes and incoming administration, due to the management staff of Meta leaving during the said transition. It was after BGI’s full acquisition of the beer factory that several types of equipment were said to be absent, leading to the arrests of suspects.
Meta Abo Beer factory, located in Sebeta, Oromia, was originally acquired by BGI at 60 ETB per-share value, BGI Ethiopia along with a few partners, commands total acquisition over the factory now.
