#ASDailyScoop: World renowned chef brings new culinary frontier to Addis Abeba
Addis Abeba – Marcus Samuelsson, an Ethiopian born Swedish-American chef is set to introduce a new culinary milestone to Addis Abeba with the grand opening of his signature Marcus Addis restaurant.
According to a statement sent to Addis Standard, Marcus Addis “is poised to stand as a cultural culinary beacon, embracing tradition and innovation while paying homage to the rich culinary heritage of Ethiopia”.
“Our cuisine is deeply rooted in Ethiopian culinary traditions while evolving to reflect our unique culinary vision and approach,” the press release quoted Samuelsson as saying.
With elegant interiors, the Marcus Addis showcases the work of local artists and musicians, while providing a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for diners, according to the press release. “The space will feature a rotating selection of art and live performances, offering a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the local community,” Samuelsson said.
The restaurant, which is situated on the 47th floor of the landmark Commercial Bank of Ethiopia building, is a joint venture between Dubai based Albwardy Hospitality, the proprietors of the Hyatt Regency hotel in Addis Ababa, and chef Marcus Samuelsson. AS
