Breaking – Eleven children hurt after school fence collapse

Elven children were hurt, two critically, when the school fence caved in while the children were out playing during a snack break this morning, according information from the Addis Abeba Fire and Emergency Prevention and Rescue Agency (AAFEPRA).

Frehiwot elementary school is located at Nefas Silk Lafto K. K, near Kadisco Paint Factory and adjacent the construction site for the city’s light rail project. According to AAFEPRA the concrete fence might have caved in due to a deep drilling happening next to it for a power house intended for the light rail project.

 
The students were at a snack break playing in the compound when the fence collapsed. Two of the eleven were admitted to a hospital and are said to be in critical condition.
